For Trades & Construction Owners

Protecting what you've built, so one bad day doesn't undo it.

Independent insurance and risk management strategies for tradespeople and specialty contractors. I safeguard your income, structure your business, and coordinate tax-efficient, legacy-focused planning around the crew, the equipment, and the liability you actually carry.

BUILT FOR THE TRADES

You are the business. That's the risk nobody priced.

The quote gets written because of your judgment. The job gets finished because of your hands. Every plan I build for a contractor starts from that single fact, then works outward through the crew, the equipment, the corporation and the household that all depend on it.

Tradespeople

Electricians, plumbers, HVAC, welders, mechanics and specialty sub-trades. Self-employed or newly incorporated, often clearing well into six figures, with every dollar of it tied to your tickets, your hands and your name on the job.

The bank's mortgage insurance won't replace that income, and a policy bought in your twenties was never sized for what you earn now. This is where most of the exposure sits and where the fix is usually quickest.

Incorporation

Construction business owners

General contractors, builders, excavation and framing outfits running a crew. Payroll, subcontractors, WCB, financed equipment, and a job-site liability that runs a lot further than the payroll register ever shows.

The corporation was set up years ago and nobody has revisited it. Retained earnings sit idle. And there's no funded answer to the question of who runs this if you're out for six months, or for good.

I also work with agriculture and fishing operations, incorporated healthcare professionals, and dual-income households carrying a business on the side.

BUILT FOR THE TRADES

Most people don't have a financial strategy. They have a collection of accounts, policies, and opinions that don't connect.

Your bookkeeper codes the receipts. Your accountant files the return. Your lawyer drew up the incorporation six years ago. Someone at the bank sold you a policy with the equipment loan. Each one did their job inside their own lane. Nobody has looked at the whole structure, which is exactly where the expensive gaps live.

01

No coordination between the corporation and the personal side. The company pays for things the household plan knows nothing about, and the other way round.

02

No plan for who takes over the business if you stop, and in many cases, no will at all.

03

Estate planning and generational transfer. Moving wealth to the next generation without handing a large share of it to the CRA on the way.

04

Tax planning that stops at the filing deadline instead of shaping how you draw income all year.

05

Coverage that quietly assumes you'll always be able to swing a hammer, when your hands and your tickets are the asset.

What Gets Coordinated

Corporate & personal

Opco, holdco and shareholder accounts reviewed alongside the household, as one connected system rather than two.

Tax efficiency

How income is drawn, where it's held, and which accounts it lands in, planned before year-end rather than after.

Income protection

Own-occupation disability and critical illness sized to what you actually earn, not what a bank's mortgage policy assumed you earn.

Key person & buy-sell

What happens to the crew, the contracts and a partner's shares if one of you is suddenly not there. Funded, not just discussed.

Succession & transfer

How the business changes hands, whether to a partner, a kid, or a buyer, planned while there's still time to structure it properly.

Estate & legacy

Wills, beneficiaries and generational transfer coordinated with your lawyer, so the plan on paper matches the structure you actually have.

The Process

Two conversations before

anything is recommended.

You decide whether there's a fit. There's no obligation attached to a first call, and nothing gets implemented before you understand the reasoning behind it.

Step 01

Discovery Call

A quick chat about your work, goals, and what's keeping you up at night.

Step 02

Your Financial Picture

We map your current income, spending, and gaps — personal and corporate.

Step 03

An Analysis Built for You

Tailored recommendations on savings, investments, insurance, and tax strategy.

Step 04

We Make It Happen

We handle the applications and paperwork, coordinating with every provider.

Step 05

Ongoing Partnership

Annual reviews keep your plan aligned as life and business evolve.

Step 06

You Refer, We Grow Together

When it's working, we'd love an introduction to the people you care about.

"We dealt with advisors from the banks for years, but always felt middle-class earners weren't taken seriously… In came Mitali, who was happy to help us grow our money no matter our income or starting point. As our family situation and goals have evolved, Mitali has been a friendly face and a knowledgeable resource guiding us every step of the way."

"She's attentive to what resonates with me and what doesn't, and she adjusts how she explains things to make sure I truly understand. She is genuinely invested in my success, which has been my biggest motivator."

"A financial advisor who works towards understanding the client's requirements and suggests a product that works for the client. Not an advisor who recommends a product that gives more benefits to themselves."

For Accountants & Lawyers

Your clients need insurance aligned to your strategy.

You can see it in the file: retained earnings with no plan behind them, a holdco nobody has revisited, a policy owned by the wrong entity. Fixing it sits outside your engagement.

That part is mine, and I do it alongside you rather than in place of you. Their tax filing stays with you, their legal work stays with their lawyer, and you hear from me before anything is implemented.

The best partnerships start with a conversation.

Find out where your

structure is leaking.

Thirty minutes about the business, the household, and the gaps

between them. No paperwork, no pitch. You leave knowing whether

there's anything worth fixing.
